Biography

Alan Hawkins received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Anthropology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville (B.A. 1991, M.A. 1997). Alan joined the OSA in 1998 and has been active in cultural resource management and archaeological research in the Midwest, Mississippi Valley, and Plains for over 30 years. He has experience in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. He has also served on the Iowa Archeological Society Board of Directors as the Membership Secretary and Treasurer since 2005.

As a Research Archaeologist, Alan conducts all aspects of cultural resource management including scoping and planning, administering budgets, conducting field investigations, directing crews, data interpretation, and report production.
