Cynthia (Cindy) Peterson, M.A., RPA

Biography

Cindy Peterson began her OSA employment as a Project Archaeologist in 1992, shifting to a Research Director position in 2019. Her wide-ranging projects have included grant-funded studies of postcontact Native American sites across the state, authoring National Historic Landmark and National Register of Historic Places archaeological site and district nominations and multiple property submissions, and large scale site excavations. She enjoys introducing volunteers to archaeological research and building relationships with volunteers, Tribal members, peers, landowners, clients, and agency staff. Cindy has a B.A. from Wartburg College (1990) and M.A. in anthropology from University of Nevada, Reno (1996).
