Biography

Bill Whittaker has published extensively on Iowa and Midwestern archaeology. He is editor and co-author of The Archaeological Guide to Iowa and Frontier Forts of Iowa. He is the current editor of the Journal of the Iowa Archeological Society. He has worked throughout the Midwest as a professional archaeologist for 30 years. 

Bill is Research Director, serving as PI for OSA research projects, overseeing ca. 275 projects a year. He also oversees the Historic Indian Location Database (HILD) and the Notable Locations database of mounds, cemeteries, and suspected archaeological sites, and he is a GIS specialist. Contact Bill if you require archaeological survey or architecture history survey.
