The Office of the State Archaeologist (OSA) is seeking an Archivist to manage the archival collections in the State Archaeological Repository of Iowa, housed at the OSA. The archival collections include digital and hard copy records and an in-house library. A major component of this role is the management of Iowa's Archaeological Research Center (iArc), an online database and archival management system created by OSA. The Archivist facilitate access to the archival collections and associated data for OSA research staff, UI faculty and students, visiting researchers, and Tribal and other descendant group representatives. The Archivist collaborates closely with the Research Collections Director in the care and management of archival collections.

  • Work Modality: In-person

  • Position Status:  Specified Term, 3-year term

  • Schedule:  regular business hours (M-F 8:00-4:30)
