Research interests: archaeology of the Upper Midwest and Northern Plains, lithic types, manufacturing, use, and raw material identification and mapping, ancient technology, glaciation of Iowa, the Upper Midwest, and Great Lakes.
Mark retired from the OSA in 2019, after 32 years serving as an archaeologist here. He is relocating to northwest Iowa where he will be continuing his research in lithics, ancient technology, and other archaeology interests. Mark will also be concentrating on getting aspects of various CRM projects into journal articles.
